Meet Sabina
Sabina Parker is the founder of Rooted Communications and a communications strategist who believes strong movements are built the same way healthy ecosystems are: with care, patience, and attention to what people actually need to grow.
For nearly a decade, Sabina led communications for mission-driven organizations, most recently serving as Communications Director and a member of the leadership team at Hunger Free Vermont. In that role, she helped guide the organization through a strategic planning process that shaped a new vision, mission, and values, while also building sustainable communications systems and helping lead the campaign that secured universal school meals statewide. As part of the leadership team, she worked to create new ways of working across the organization—structures that strengthened collaboration, clarified decision-making, and better supported staff doing complex, mission-driven work.
Alongside her professional roles, Sabina has supported a wide range of organizations as a communications volunteer, organizer, and collaborator, including A Greener New Orleans, the Vermont Racial Justice Alliance, Migrant Justice, Real Food Challenge, and several successful state and city races for state representatives and city council members.
Sabina’s approach to communications is deeply informed by the natural world. She is Permaculture Design Certified, and much of her thinking about systems, collaboration, and resilience comes from ecological principles: healthy systems thrive through relationships, diversity, and structures that allow energy to flow where it’s needed.
Through Rooted Communications, Sabina works with nonprofits, social movements, and heart-driven businesses to build clearer systems, stronger teams, and messaging that helps people feel steady enough to imagine—and build—something better.
